That None Should Perish

Based on Ezekiel 36:26. ²⁶ I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Stone. Hard. Cold. Unmoving. Unfeeling.

Uncaring. Lifeless. Unlovable. Unable to love. Unable to share.

Words that described me long ago.

Like a dead stone, cold, hard statue standing. Just barely alive.

I was happy with my life. All about me. All for me. No guilt. Selfish,

I wanted it all just for me. No one else mattered. Just me and my own desires. I didn’t want to give it up. All mine and no one else mattered.

And then He walked into my life and changed it. Jesus!

I turned to Him and He replaced the stone in my chest with a new heart! Completely upside down and inside out. He reached into my heart, and slowly but gently, my heart changed.

My whole life changed. Not all at once, but gradually.

A heart that is beating! A heart that is alive because of Him! Warmed by His love! My heart beats for Him! Beats with Him! Cares for others because of Him! A heart that lives for Jesus!
