A TESTIMONY
PRAYING BLINDLY FOR SOMEONE YOU DO NOT KNOW
Before I start, I want you to think about Barabas and Jesus, and how Jesus took his place on the cross for to die for him, not just willingly but literally! The crowd chose Barabas, a known criminal and murderer, and let him go free! What purer love is there than that?
About 2 months ago, my son-in-law’s father fell off a ladder and had trauma to his brain and the doctors thought he would not survive. He did, but only for about a few weeks, and then he passed away about 2 weeks ago. Well, I had put him on a prayer chain during that time and I was praying for him even though we never met and Jesus wouldn’t let me stop praying and I was hoping that he would come to Jesus before he passed away.
A few days ago, his other son and wife came over and told us all about him and his wife, and that they were not close to him at all. He was a very abusive person and in fact, they didn’t like him. His father wouldn’t even acknowledge him as his son!
I was thinking about that last night while I was doing some sewing. Now, I never met this man as they live on the east coast, and we are on the west coast. That really hit me hard, how could someone be that horrible to his own family?! I had no idea about any of this, just that he needed prayer. I had been reading about Barabas and Jesus and how the crowd chose Barabas over Him.
Even though I didn’t know this man, Jesus asked me to step in for him. What a wonderous love He has for all of us and I was thinking what if no one else had stepped in to pray, how sad that would be. But as I said, Jesus wouldn’t let me stop praying even though I had no idea.
Is there someone the Lord is nudging you to pray for today, even if you don’t understand why?
