I know that I put it somewhere, but where exactly is the question. That little key that unlocks the door. The door that sets me free.
I am frantically looking for it! But I cannot find it! I am trying not to panic, but worry is peeking through the window. Checking on me. Waiting.
I tell myself to take a deep breath. Relax. Slow down. Rest.
Worry backs off. But just a little. Still waiting, its hand resting on the window sill.
I take a deep breath. I open my Bible to Matthew 6:34: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
As the prayer leaves my lips,a deep, soothing peace takes over. The window is closed and worry has left. I have found that Jesus is my key!
Philippians 4:6-7: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand…”
I need to remind myself that worry is just another wrench that “it” likes to throw into the works, causing panic and unnecessary worry. I am reminded that worry is the opposite of trust. Trust in the Lord Jesus, and worry will disappear as all is under His control, not ours.
