“Depart from me, I never knew you!” Declares Jesus.
How can you defend yourself after hearing those words? You cannot. You are condemned to Hell. And your punishment is replaying everything you ever did for the rest of eternity.
Why?
Because you loved yourself more than you loved Jesus. You took the center stage and focused it all on ME!
You put your works ahead of what Jesus wanted and assumed that you would get into Heaven. Your deeds were more important to YOU than your faith and belief in Jesus.
You pretended to be nice and loving while harboring hatred and unforgiveness in your heart.
You never fully surrendered yourself to Jesus.
You ignored what He asked of you and did what you wanted instead.
You held back love for others like a treasure chest close to your heart and punished others by not sharing it.
You shared the Gospel, “See how many I brought to church! Look at what I did!” You didn’t give Jesus the credit, and pride set in. “I did all of this by myself!” You pretended to believe and thought that was enough to get into heaven. You believed in yourself.
You ignored the power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus.
You have been warned in advance!
How can I escape Hell?
Yes, there is a way out but time is running out. It is not too late, yet, to change that verdict into “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
You can still change. Start by unlocking the door to your heart, and let the Lord Jesus in. Not just a little corner, but the throne of your heart, that is where Jesus belongs. Abdicate the throne. Give Him your heart totally.
Listen to Him! He is speaking to you. Softly. Turn down the volume of yourself and LISTEN to what He has to say.
Do not trust in your own self. A heart that is unsurrendered is deceitful and it only wants to be in charge, not to listen to what He has to say. The evil one speaks lies, soft, velvety words, that sound right, but are not true. Check your heart and it’s motives.
Remember if you do not forgive one another, neither will the father forgive you. Let go of the grudges and hold on to the Love that Jesus offers.
Jesus. Believe in Him. Put your faith in Him. Trust in Him. Love and Live for Him. Surrender yourself to Him.
AMEN!
