I sit on the side of my bed. What happened? My life has been turned upside down.

Again.

I don’t know how or why it happened.

I felt blindsided by it, like I was run over.

All I know is that it hurt. It still hurts.

I don’t want to hurt.

How do I stop the hurt? The pain? It keeps replaying in my mind, my heart, my body.

But who can I trust? I don’t want to be hurt.

Again.

A voice is speaking. Softly. I can barely hear it.

I strain to hear.

Who is it? Is it someone trying to hurt me?

Yet again.

NO! The voice, this voice, is different.

It is gentle. Quiet. Peaceful.

But I still resist as I don’t trust it. Him.

I lean in closer to hear. It’s Him. Gentle, soothing.

No hurt.

I am no longer hurting.

His voice is gentle. It is healing me.

I feel my fragile feelings being stripped away.

One by one, gentle. It hurts, but just a little.

He replaces my fragile feelings of pain and hurt with a clean wrapping full of love that He rubs into my soul. It quiets me. He assures me that I will be okay.

The hurt is gone. The pain is gone. They have been replaced with His love for me.

I am His child.

Thanks. Need to remind myself I don’t have to sit and stew in the hurt like I deserve it.

Not sure my previous comment went through. I need to remember this because the hurt entraps me and doesn’t let go. Jesus said He sets us free. Even if I feel I don’t deserve it.

HI Lisa. No problem, I just now saw them. No, you don’t need to sit it, let Him take you and clean it off. You’re not meant to stew, it wants to keep you hostage and it is so easy to fall into that trap. Believe me, I still get stuck too.

It is hard at times, but He is always there waiting for us.
